Scope:This specification covers established metric manufacturing tolerances applicable to seamless and welded thin-wall aircraft tubing of nickel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys ordered to metric dimensions. These tolerances apply to all conditions and are based on individual measurements, unless otherwise noted. The term "excl" is used to apply only to the higher figure of a specified range.

【摘要】:ThistestmethodcanbeusedtoobtainanestimatethetransmissionlossofbuildingelementsinalaboratorysettingwherethesourceroomandthespecimenmountingconditionssatisfytherequirementsofTestMethodE90.Theacceptabilityofthereceivingroomwillbedeterminedbyasetoffieldindicatorsthatdefinethequalityandaccuracyoftheintensityestimate.Byappropriatelyconstructingthesurfaceoverwhichtheintensityismeasureditispossibletoselectivelyexcludetheinfluenceofsoundenergypathsincludingtheeffectsfromjoints,gapsaswellasflankingsoundpaths.ThismethodmaybeparticularlyusefulwhenaccuratemeasurementsofapartitioncannotbemadeinanTestMethodE90facilitybecausethepartitionsoundinsulationislimitedbyflankingtransmissioninvolvingfacilitysourceandreceiverroomsurfaces,(forexample,thepathfromthesourceroomfloortothereceiverroomfloorviatheisolatorsandtheslabsupportingthetwo).AnnexA3discussesthisindetail.Thediscretepointmethodallowsthemappingoftheradiatedsoundintensitywhichcanbeusedtoidentifydefectsoruniquefeatures(2)ofthepartition.Currentresearchreportedintheliteratureindicatethatthereexistsabiasbetweenmeasuresoftransmissionlossobtainedusingtheintensitytechniqueandthoseobtainedusingtheconventionaltworoomreverberationtechnique(forexample,TestMethodE90,(3)and(4)).AppendixEprovidesestimatesofthebiasthatmightbeexpected.Despitethepresenceofabias,nocorrectionsaretobeappliedtothemeasureddataobtainedbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofairbornesoundtransmissionlossofbuildingpartitionssuchaswallsofallkinds,operablepartitions,floor-ceilingassemblies,doors,windows,roofs,panelsandotherspace-dividingbuildingelements.Itmayalsobehaveapplicationsinsectorsotherthanthebuildingindustry,althoughthesearebeyondthescope.1.2TheprimaryquantityreportedbythisstandardisIntensityTransmissionLoss(ITL)andshallnotbegivenanothername.Similarly,thesingle-numberratingIntensitySoundTransmissionClass(ISTC)derivedfromthemeasuredITLshallnotbegivenanyothername.1.3Thistestmethodmaybeusedtorevealthesoundradiationcharacteristicsofapartitionorportionthereof.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThemethodformeasuringthesoundintensityradiatedbythebuildingelementundertestdefinedbythisASTMstandardmeetsorexceedsthoseofISO15186-1.SpecialconsiderationwillhavetobegiventorequirementsforthesourceroomandspecimenmountingifcompliancewithISO15186-1isalsodesiredastheydifferfromthoseofthisstandard.
